Obituary

L W Hutchinson, Jr., age 91, of Alma died at the Veterans Hospital in Dublin Monday March 10th, 2014 after a short illness. He was a native of Jeff Davis County but had lived most of his life in Bacon County. He was son of the late Lemuel Willis Hutchinson, Sr. and Anna Pickren Hutchinsonand; was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Taylor Hutchinson, a daughter, Winnette Carter Lee, two great grand sons, Michael Boothe, Garrett Carter, three brothers, Oliver, Fred and Edsel Hutchinson, three sisters, Myrtle Trowell, Minnie Leggett and Dorothy Cothern. L W was a sweet potato farmer for many years, a veteran of WW II while serving in the U S Army and a member of First Assembly Church of God in Douglas. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Hutchinson (Lara) of Newburg, MO, Steven Hutchinson (Marie) of Alma, two daughters, Pat Hamby (Knox) of Atlanta, Sharon Boothe (Joseph) of Hopewell, VA, 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 12 Great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Adcock and Rev. T F Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in Campground Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening between 6 and 9 P M. Active pallbearers will be, Mark, Luke and G K Hutchinson, Jonathan Hamby, Jo-Ron Boothe and Lemuel Carter. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary. Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
