L. A. Varnadore, age 83, of Alma, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 after an extended illness. He was born on May 15, 1937 to Daisey Maude and Harry Varnadore in Pierce County and a native of Brunswick, Georgia.

He was retired from Solon Automated Services and was a member of the First Church of the of the Nazarene in Alma

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Paulk Varnadore, and 7 siblings;Rhonda V. Frazier, Veyone V. Adams, Audrey V. Dollar, Alvera Green, Odis Yeomans, Harry Varnadore, Jr. and Dothan   Varnadore.  Survivors include his wife, Latrell Turner Varnadore of Alma Ga; five children, Michael Boatright (Martha) of Alma, Georgia, Jerry Boatright (Myra) of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and Terri Riley of Greensboro, Georgia, Angela Gisi (Jimmy) of Powder Springs, Ga, and Wendy Mikell (Mark) of Alma Georgia.  7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with the Reverend Dan Taylor and Reverend Walter Mingledorff officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday from 12:00 PM until funeral time. Interment will be held Monday, May 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Brunswick Memorial Park.

Mr. Varnadore's grandsons; Brian Parker, Michael Malires, Taylor Parker, Christian Parker and Tyler Mikell and Cody Mikell  will serve as active pallbearers and the Hardees Group and The Supper Club of Alma will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
