Obituary

LaFaye Wilson Lewis Cole, age 83, of Alma passed away on July 8, 2022 at her residence.

She died much the same way she lived-in the midst of productivity at her beloved home in Alma, Georgia. Born to Tulaf and Jimmie Wilson on October 14, 1938, LaFaye was the second of seven children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Janet, Virginia and Lona Mae, and her brothers, Carey and George. She is survived by her youngest sister, Sharon Wilson Taylor (James Carroll Taylor).

Lafaye left behind a long and deep legacy. She was mother to Debby  (David Stone, Sr.), Randy, Reggie, and Shane Lewis (Beth Bartle). Randy preceded her in death. She was know as Grandma to Dannah Lewis (Dexter Rowland, Jr.), Honey Cross, Jessica (James) Braun, Patirck (Katie) Lewis, Miles Lewis, James (Hannah) Lewis, and Allena LaFaye Thomas. She was great-grandma to Christinah (Jordan) Mulder, Bryan (Haley) Cross, Evan (Sara) Rowland, Avril Braun, Calen Braun, Jayden, Asuna, Vienna and Sydney Lewis; great-great-grandma to Elsie Cross, Oliver Mulder, Gordon Cross and Lincoln Mulders. In addition to those mentioned above she is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins who she loved as her very own.

Affectionately known as Granny Faye, aunt Faye, Grandma, and momma. LaFaye fiercely loved her family and her friends, who quickly became family. Her faith was bigger than any one church building could hold. She knew her Savior and loved him. She strived to love others the way that He loved her, and this was obvious to anyone who knew her. She loved life and equally loved to serve others. You were always welcome in her home, and she had an uncanny ability to find cars when needed.

We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her parents, siblings and son. She was and is immensely loved, and she will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12 th at 10:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. James Carroll Taylor and President Rodney Peterson.
