Larry J. Johnson, age 59, of Alma passed away suddenly at his residence on Thursday, December 17th. He was son of the late Elijah Johnson and Willene Curry Bell, he was preceded in death by his adopted parents, James & Drewcillar Nelson, a brother, James Bell, Jr. and a sister, Mary Ann Johnson. Larry was a member of the Church of God by Faith in Nicholls.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Carolyn Denelle Johnson of Alma, a daughter, Brandi Nicole Walker of Douglas, a brother, Irvin Bell of Florida, four sisters, Joann Raines (Wayne) of Valdosta, Ga., Annie Pearl Black of Douglas, Sarah Bell of Valdosta, Ga. and Linda Wright (Jimmy) of Douglas and a grandson, Phillip Finney of Douglas.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 22nd at 11:00 AM at the Church of God of Faith in Alma with Pastor Timothy Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Monday at the funeral home from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Ramaun Doctor, Charlie Pace, Alvin & Weldon Rush, Albert Curtis and Larry Garner. Honorary pallbearers will be; Deacons of the Church of God of Faith in Nicholls.
