Larry D. Turner, age 78, of Nicholls passed away February 9, 2023 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was born December 18, 1944 in Bacon County to Alex Wiley Turner and Eloise Hutcheson Turner. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a special friend Billy Scott.

Mr. Turner was a retired Truck Driver and a member of Salem Church.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary Hunsucker Turner of Nicholls; four children, Greg Turner (Dana), Derrick Turner and Beverly Turner of Bickley and Mindy Clark (Greg) of North Augusta, SC; sister, Joyce Stapelton (Buddy) of Dothan, AL; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; also his fur babies, Lucy, Spider and Bella.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. John Thomas and Rev. Adam Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time.

Active pallbearers will be: Andy Batten, Andre Brinson, Mark Smith, Hipp Boatright, Bernard Cook, Joey Thomas and Scotty Boatright. Honorary pallbearers will be: Keith & Cindy Taylor, Donnie & Karen Eason, Wallace & Nancy Boatright, Glenn & Brenda Moore, Glenn & Judy Martin, Heart & Transplant Center Mayo Jacksonville, Bacon County EMS, Bacon County Hospital Staff, Bo Bo Davis, Lee Hamilton, Ronnie Boatright, Jana Benton, Glenda Morgan, Tina Eldo, Kevin & Nina Scott, David & Crystal Lee, Dr. Carter and Staff, Richie Taylor, Alma Auto Sure and all others in attendance.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
