Mr. Larry W. Williams, age 87, of Alma passed away at his residence August 24,2024 after an extended illness. He was born in Bacon County November 11, 1936 to Winnie Ira Williams and Gladys Mae Medders Williams. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Donnie Ray Williams and Charles Williams; sisters Peggy Morgan and Delane Carter and brother-in-law, Hughlon Carter.

Mr. Williams was a businessman for 37 years owner and operator of Larry's Supermarket. Then later owning several Subway Stores located within the surrounding area, alone with LB's Family steakhouse.

Mr. Williams loved the Lord and was dedicated to serving the Lord during his life by holding many different positions within the church. He served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, Children Church Ministries and serving on church council for many years. He was attending Southside Church of God. He was also a member of the Alma Lions Club and past President and served in the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Miriam Moody Williams, children, Larry Myron (Ron) Williams (Shelley) and Sonja Kay Martin (Randy); three grandchildren, Redford Williams, David Hundley (Taylor) and Hunter Williams (Brooke), brother, Tony Williams (Cindee) along with several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Pastor David Deen and Pastor R. M. Warren officiating. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Southside Church of God Building Fund 102 Taylor Rd. Alma, Georgia 31510.

Active pallbearers will be Redford Williams, David Hundley, Hunter Williams, Mike Williams, Brian Williams Rev. Dan Jordan. Honorary pallbearers will be Bethany Hospice, Bacon County Class of 1955, Dr. Harrison Carter and Staff and special caretakers, Terry Griffin, Jerry Nall, Alicia Pittman.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
