Latayne Hodges, age 82, of Alma passed away Friday, December 12th at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Pierce county but had lived in Bacon County most of her life. Latayne was daughter of the late Jacob Carter and Eva McCarthy Carter and preceded in death by her husband Don Hodges, four brothers, Prentice, Junior, Jessie (Sonny) and W.A. (Scrap) Carter and two sisters, Jurell Weathers and Audrey Cothern.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Lyman Adams of Lyons, Ga.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 14th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Lowell Lee officiating and eulogy by Shadeena Penor. Interment will follow in Corinth Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Joey Penor, Eddie and Wayne Carter, Tony Dubberly, Matthew Thompson and Colon Taylor. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
