Obituary

Linda Jean Herzog Holland, age 73 of Alma, passed away on August 23, 2021 in Alma, GA after an extended illness. She was born in Butte, MT on September 24, 1947.

Linda's mother, Virginia Linjatie and step-father, moved to Sunny Slope, MT where she attended school until the eighth grade. She then transferred to Fairfield High School and graduated in 1965.  She was a member of a quartet and enjoyed singing and was a part of the spirit squad.

Linda met her husband (Jerry), who was stationed in Great Falls, MT at Malmstrom Air Force Base.  After moving back to Georgia in 1967, Linda worked for an attorney.  She eventually moved on to work at Alma Exchange Bank and then the Bacon County Health System. She began her career there as a secretary but with hard work and determination she eventually became the Human Resource Director for the Bacon County Hospital.  She then finished her career while working for Dr Harrison Clay Carter in insurance, billing, and payroll.

She loved to work and help others.  She was a true Christian lady who believed in her family and hard work. Linda was a member of Tenth Street Church of God for the majority of her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jerald (Jerry) Holland, father Hessel Herzog, her mother Virginia Linjatie, a step-father Onni Linjatie, and a sister Phyllis Simon.

Linda leaves behind those who love her dearly....a son (Howie and CaTina Holland) and a daughter (DeAnna and Charlie Powell) from Alma, GA,  a sister (Sharon Marcoff) from Portland, OR, a brother (Robert Herzog) from Choteau, MT, a brother (Ralph and Denise Herzog) from Leander, TX, a sister-in-law (Karen and Donnie Eason), a brother-in-law (Larry and Annette Holland), a brother-in-law (Roger Holland and Keith Holland), and a special Sister-in -law (Lynn and Rod Rentz) all from Alma,GA.

Survivors also include several grandchildren Chase Mobley, Courtney Mobley Chancey, Hannah Holland, Hope Holland, Kenley Powell, and Nolan Powell. Plus several amazing nieces and nephews.

She is truly loved and will be missed by many!

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Tenth Street Church of God with Pastor Edmund Thrift and Pastor Travis Peavy officiating. Wendy Lee will give a personal eulogy. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening between 6 and 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be: Jason Holland, Trevor Holland, Jamie Moore, Keith Holland, Larry Holland, and Roger Holland. The Ladies Ministry at Alma Church of God, the Hardee's Breakfast Club, and the employees of Dr. Harrison Carter's office are considered honorary pallbearers.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
