Obituary

Mr. Linton K. Carter, age 93, of Alma passed away November 03, 2025, at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Bacon County November 10, 1931, to the late Hymrick Kellie Carter and Clarice Altman Carter.

Mr. Carter served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was owner and operator of Acme TV for 34 years, was a member of the V.F.W., The American Legion and the Alma First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Harriet O'Steen Carter, two brothers Waylan F. (Christine) Carter and Hughlon G. (Delane) Carter; brother-in-laws, Wayne O'Steen, Eddie O'Steen and Howard O'Steen and sister-in-law, Margaret McLendon Survivors include  two sister-in-laws, Lynn Chaney and Grace Simmons and brother-in-law, Van O'Steen;  their adopted family, Reynaldo (Gricelda) Badillo, Jose and Harriet Isabella "Little Lady". Also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 08, 2025 at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church of Alma with Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 9:30 until service time.

Active pallbearers include Reynaldo Pichal Mendoza, Jose Pichal Badillo, Ricky Gilliard, Albert Wildes, Jack Johnson, and Larry Taylor.Honorary pallbearers include members of the First Baptist Adult Men's Sunday School Class.

Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of  the arrangements.
