The heart & matriarch of our family has gone on to do greater things than this world would allow her to do. One June 12, 2021 Lois Edna Tanner Bedgood peacefully drew her last breath as she slept. We, the family, are sad and miss her already, but we know where she is. She's in a much better place. She had come down ill the past couple of months, and it was just to big for her to fight. She passed away in Douglas, GA. at the home of her daughter, where she had been receiving care during these times of illness.

Mrs. Lois Bedgood is proceeded in death by her father, Clinton Norman Tanner "Rabbit"; mother, Ester Meeks Tanner; brothers, Carl Tanner & Troy Levern Tanner; sisters, Doris Willine Bussell, Lydia Jenetta Tanner and Mary Marie Reese.

She is survived by her daughter, Robyn Tanner; son, Eddie Bedgood (Leanna Lloyd) of Bacon County. Her grandchildren, Lyn-Lee Hursey (Adam Johnson) of Coffee County; Kaleb Wildes of Coffee County; Keagon Bedgood (Sara Batten) of Bacon County. Her great-grandchildren, Jace Bedgood, Jace Johnson, Olivia Bedgood, Sophia Bedgood and Baby Bedgood and one brother, Jerrell Tanner of Americus.

She lived a good, long, healthy life; she would be 86 years old Sunday, June 20, 2021. She believed in God, staying active,  & shopping a good sale. She was a steadfast believer in the word & knew without doubt or hesitation where her blessings came from. She was a member of Wolf Pit Church of Alma, GA. Staying active was an everyday part of her life. Upon retiring from the U.S. Department of Agriculture 46 of service, she took up a good bit of her free time chasing behind her 3 grandchildren. She was notorious for spotting a good sale. She literally would find the diamonds in the rough. Be it a yard sale or a blow out sale at Belk's, she always walked away with a steal of a deal.

Mrs. Lois was known for a good many things. Her wonderful untouchable cooking, her incredible home library and love for reading, her political stance and patriotic love for this land of freedom, even her high interest in history and all things antique. But most of all, she is known best for loving her family and being so incredibly proud of each of them. She always had the words of wisdom needed for any situation or tough time they faced. And she didn't pass up an opportunity to brag just a little. Each one with their own talents and achievements and she was so proud of each one. The family she raised single handedly, that she installed so much knowledge, laughter and lessons, she loved them most of all. And it is they who will pass on the legacy of the beautiful character of Mrs. Lois.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, words to words. In the end, we all become stories, and hers is GREAT!

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. T. F. Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Eddie Bedgood, Kaleb Wildes, Keagon Bedgood, Oliver "Ott" Hursey, Scott Reese, Mark Hanes, Greg Tanner and Adam Johnson.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
