Lola Taylor Medders Lewis of Jacksonville, FL died Friday at Heartland Healthcare Center in Jacksonville after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County but had lived in Jacksonville for many years. Lola was daughter of the late William Monroe Taylor and Cilla Lee Taylor Taylor and was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois McClung. She was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Milton E. Lewis of Jacksonville, a son Larry Medders (Susie) of Alma, a step-son, Woody Lewis (Reba) of Palatka, FL, a step-daughter, Faye Mixon (Willie) of Callahan, Fl, a sister, Perlis Taylor of Alma.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15th at 3:00 o'clock at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Carter, Rev. Reggie Herrin and Rev. Jimmy Miles officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church Tuesday from 11:00 AM until funeral time. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be, Gerald Holland, Don Cothern, Del Osterhout, Donald Aycock, Jerry Murphy and Everett Carter. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
