Lonnie Stephens, age 85, of Alma passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born April 16, 1941, in Brunswick, Georgia to Lynch Stephens and Bertie West Stephens.

Mr. Stephens was a retired Painting Contractor after many years. He also served in the National Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. Stephens; son, Lemar Stephens; brothers, Lynch Stephens, Jr., Larry, Bobby, Roger, Donnie, Pete, Glynn, Harold and Bill Stephens and sisters, Dora McKenzie, Una Hewitt and Lena Stephens. Survivors include four daughters, Cindy Woodard (Mike) of Jesup, Sharon Jacobs (Larry) of Burleson, TX, Karen Paulson and Candace Strickland of Alma; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and sisters, Linda Mason, Carol Smith (Greg), Marilyn Hewitt (Jimmy), Kathy Goff and Darlene Brown (Paul) of Jesup and Penny Ray of Brunswick.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
