Lorene B. Lee, age 89, of Alma died Friday February 17, 2017 at the Appling Health Care System in Baxley after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Seward Bennett and Ethel Pittman Bennett and was also preceded in death by her husband Walter Monroe Lee and a brother Buster Bennett. Lorene was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son Walter Newsome Lee (Pamela) of Cumming, Ga., a daughter Dianne Jones (Danny) of Jacksonville, FL, two sisters Mable Smith of Alma, Sybil Edgerton of Jacksonville, FL, four grandchildren Rex Hardin of Jacksonville, FL, Amber and Steven Marsh of Dacula, GA, Marla Lee of Alma three great-grandchildren Brandon, Teresa and Gavyn Hardin all of Jacksonville, FL and one great-great grandchild Jade Hardin of Jacksonville, FL.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Miles officiating. Eulogies will be by family members. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday evening between 6 and 9 P M.

Active pallbearers will be Jerry E. Boatright, Sammy Boatright, Junior Overstreet, Tom Morris and Jimmy Lee. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
