Louise J. Tanner age 89, of Alma passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Appling County on July 14, 1931 to Vasco Johnson and Ettie Varnadore Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Tanner; son, Carroll Tanner; grandson, Jerry Tanner; two brothers, Obie Johnson and Rubin Johnson; three sisters, Eloise Medders, Jan Hardwick and Lorita Medders. She was a member of Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include son, Larry Tanner (Vickie); two daughters, Glenda Morgan and Sandra Hendrickson (Gary); one sister, Mary Norris all of Alma; 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.

A private graveside service was held Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Pine Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Eric Brown officiated and Joe Boatright gave a eulogy

Active pallbearers were; Jamie Tanner, Scott Taylor, John Tanner, Russell Leasure, Austin and Evan Tanner.

Crosby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
