Rev. Emily Lucille Tuten Nettles, age 87, of Alma died Tuesday November 7 th , 2017 at Twin Oaks after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County daughter of the late David Franklin Tuten and Delilah Cothern Tuten and was also preceded in death by her husband Rev. Sylvester Nettles, a daughter Hilda Jean Vann, two sons Johnny and Ronnie Richardson, a brother Lloyd Tuten, three sisters Laverne Gill, Beatrice Carter and Vernell Strickland. Lucille was Pastor at Carters Chapel Church for 48 years.
Survivors include a step-son Dewayne and Judy Nettles of Douglas, daughter-in-law Louise Richardson of Surrency, a niece Tammy Harris of Screven, three grandchildren Mi Mi Ratliff, Tina Clever and Ronnie R. Richardson. Aso several great and great-great grandchildren survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Taylor and Rev. Ryan Sweat officiating. Interment will follow in Carters Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 A M until funeral time.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Ratliff, Carlyle Clever, L B Boatright, Ardel Boatright, Ronnie R. Richardson and Rusty Weaver. Honorary escort will be Dr. Cox and employee's of Twin Oaks.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
