Obituary

Mac D. Nobles stepped into the loving arms of his Lord at the age of eighty-seven on December 3, closing an earthly chapter defined by faithfulness, curiosity, service, and love.

Born in Nicholls, Georgia, Mac spent his life lifting others. His journey from a young man inspired to teach to a wise elder guiding with compassion was a quiet masterpiece of a life well-lived. Mac entered a room with a spring in his step and a twinkle in his eye. He had a quick wit and was a brilliant conversationalist who could hold an audience spellbound with stories sure to bring peals of contagious laughter.

For more than thirty years in education, Mac believed every student carried a spark worth tending. He never missed a chance to encourage, to listen, or to remind someone of their worth. Many remember him not only as a teacher, but as a mentor and friend who helped them find their destined path for their own journey.

His greatest earthly devotion was to his wife, Bobbie L. Nobles, with whom he shared sixty-five beautiful years of cherished partnership, shared tears, joyous laughter, and a love rooted deeply and firmly in Christ. As a skilled craftsman, Mac's creative genius would always be enhanced whenever he partnered with Bobbie's skill as they collaborated on everything from artistic endeavors to the home they built together.

A long-time member of Nicholls Baptist Church, Mac served as a deacon. His faith was deep and heartfelt, and he walked with a quiet integrity that spoke louder than any sermon.

Awaiting him in eternity were his son, Chad D. Nobles; parents, Daniel Elliott Nobles and Bonnie Dubberly Nobles; sister, Leta Ann Nobles Varnadore; and goddaughter, Desireé G. Ellis. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie L. Nobles; his son, Jason Elliott Nobles; his sister, Sylvia Sue Nobles Alford; his godchildren, Diantha V. Ellis, Denasia L. Ellis, and Zachary T. Ellis; numerous nieces and nephews; countless students; and a beloved church family. All who were blessed to be on the life path of Mac D. Nobles will forever feel the imprint of this good and gracious prince of a man.
