Maggie L. Hersey, age 81, of Nicholls, Georgia born March 28, 1943 in Coffee County, Georgia passed away August 14, 2024 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after an extended illness.

She was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church.Mrs. Hersey was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Anderson and Mamie Taylor Anderson, brothers, Milford Anderson and Buster Anderson, sisters, Christine Bagley and Nettie Clements and granddaughter, Candis Hersey.

Survivors include her three children, Ricky Hersey (Barbara), Randy Hersey (Cindy) and Connie Whitley (Barry), grandsons, Abram Hersey (Mattie) and Jarred Spivey (Kameryn), great-grandchildren, Kamdyn Johnson, Beau and Remy Hersey, brother, Jerry Anderson (Thelma), sisters, Betty Adams and Ann Burnam (Don); also, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Dry Creek Baptist Church in Nicholls with Bro. Buddy Jordan, Bro. David Davis and Bro. James Steed officiating. Interment will follow in Hall Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 10:00 AM until service time.

Active pallbearers will be Randy Miller, Scott Miller, Mickey Anderson, Donnie Anderson, Christopher and Stanley McElroy. Members of Dry Creek Baptist Church, Jimmy & Carolyn Roppe and Staff of Twin Oaks Nursing Home will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
