Marcus Newton Gaskins, age 97, of Alma passed away on December 22, 2021 at his residence after a short illness. Born December 12, 1924 in Atkinson County to Eddie Virgil Gaskins and Ruby Luke Gaskins. He was retired from CSX Railroad and a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Georgia Ruth Mattox Gaskins; brothers, Henry Gaskins, F. B. Gaskins, Hershel Gaskins and Loren Gaskins and infant brother and sister. Survivors include two children, Jerry Marcus Gaskins (Alyssa) of Callahan and Rhonda Little of Alma; brother Billy Gaskins of Alma; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Beulah Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Loren Bryant and Rev. Matt Tuttle officiating. R. B. Gaskins will give a personal eulogy. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until funeral time.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Comfort Care Hospice 88 Heritage St. Baxley, Ga. 31513.

Active pallbearers will be; Denny Lee, Richie Williams, Jay Mattox, Gary Allen, Tommy Peacock and Glenn Mixon. Honorary pallbearers will be; Eddie Smart and Terry Phillips.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
