Margaret Emily Haggard, age 80, of Alma passed away Sunday, January 26th at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Elizabethan, TN. But had lived in Bacon County the past 46 years. Margaret was daughter of the late Charley Bawgus and Roxie Murray Bawgus and was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Haggard, three brothers, Harold, Clarance and Bruce Bawgus and a sister, Joyce. She was a member of the Eight Street Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include two sons, Gordon Haggard (Uvon) and Everett Haggard (Paula) of Alma, one daughter, Karen Murray (Ralph) of Macon, four sisters, Leona Scott and Pauline Gwaltney of Johnson City, TN., Judy and Edna of Baltimore, MD. 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Denny Cothern and Rev. Travis Peavy officiating. Interment will follow in Holton Cemetery on Pine Level Church Road. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening between 6 and 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be, Jerry Thornton, Rusty Pritchett, John Rothanzl, Gene Darsey, Larry and Patrick Murray. All others in attendant will be considered as honorary pallbearers.
