Obituary
Margaret Trellis Meeks, age, 69, of Nicholls passed away Tuesday, December 30th at her daughter's residence after an extended illness. She was a native Bacon County and daughter of the late Wesley Waters and Lollie Tanner Waters. Trellis was preceded in death by her husband, John Meeks and a brother, Edward Waters. She was a member of Grace Community Church.
Survivors include a son, Lee Meeks, daughter, Teresa McElroy (Jim) of Nicholls, three sisters, Joyce Thornton of Jesup, Sue Taylor of Nicholls and Gail Smith (Butch) of Homerville, Ga., 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2nd at 2:00 PM at Grace Community Church with Dr. Dale Carver, Rev. Mark Thornton and Rev. Shane Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Roberts Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Grace Community Church from 1:00 PM until funeral time.
Active pallbearers will be; John, Mark & Matthew Horton, Bobby Taylor, Gary Thornton and Shan O'Gormen. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
