Margie Elizabeth Boatright, age 85, of Alma, passed away Saturday September 5, 2026, at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County born April 20, 1941, to the late Ted and Bernice Odum Carter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Tuck Boatright; her brother Drexel Carter and sister Barbara Carter.

She retired from the admissions department of Bacon County Hospital after many years of service. She was a longtime member of the ladies auxiliary with the VFW.

Survivors include her son Teddy Boatright (Karen) of Alma, grandson Brock Bennett (Danielle) and great grandchildren Lena and Shiloh Bennett.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 08, 2026, at 2PM at Friendship Community Church on Coffee Road with Rev. R.B. Gaskins and Rev. Jimmy Miles officiating. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery (on Hwy 203). The family will be receiving friends at Friendship Community Church from 1 PM until service time.

Active pallbearers are Tom Parker, Lloyd Johnson, Charlie Powell, Tommy Metts, Marty Hilton, and Drexel Thrift. Honorary pallbearers include the staff of Twin Oaks Nursing Home and the staff of Dr. Sinclair’s office.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery fund.
