Maria Soto, age 41, of Alma passed away February 16, 2024 at Chandler Hospital in Savannah after a short illness. She was born June 22, 1982 in Vera Cruz, Mexico.

Survivors include her husband, Juan Soto of Alma; her parents, Oseas Zarate and Ricarda Martinez of Mexico; five children, Jacob Soto, Fermin Soto, Christian Lopez, Kendy Lopez Gonzalez (Fernando) and Suleimi Soto all of Alma; brothers, Martin Zarate, Elias Zarate, Noe Zarate of Houston, Guicho Zarate and Julio Zarate of Mexico; sisters, Antonina Zarate, Reyna Zarate and Elisa Zarate of Mexico and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Iglesia Cristianas Renacidos Para Cristo with Pastor Mariano Esquirel. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
