Martha Aycock, age 86 of Alma, GA passed away February 15, 2024 at Vista Park/Affinis Hospice after a brief illness. Martha was born in Bacon County, GA on December 11, 1937 to the late Britt and Cassie Courson Brigman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Billy F. Aycock, by infant son Mylon Lee Aycock, by her sisters Edith Vickers and Hazel Altman, and by her brother Johnnie B. Brigman, all of Bacon County, GA.

Martha graduated from Bacon County High School in 1955. After graduation she worked in Jacksonville, FL and also appeared regularly on the state wide "Toby Dowdy Show" on WMBR-TV(WJXT) as part of a singing trio, The Almarettes. Her love of music, particularly gospel music, lasted throughout her life. She was gifted with a beautiful voice and sang regularly at her church and when requested for special occasions. For many years Martha taught kindergarten and worked with church pre-school programs. She loved teaching young children. Later in life she devotedly and lovingly cared for her husband Billy during his 6 year illness. She was an active member of her beloved Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons: Andrew Aycock, Sr. of Mershon, GA and Mark Aycock (Terri) of Spartanburg, SC; one sister Dorcas Walker of Ware County, GA; three grandchildren, Alex Aycock (Mallory), Elizabeth Masdon (Willis), and Andrew Aycock, Jr (Amber); and she was blessed with four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Michael McClintock officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church facility fund, 551 Pine Level Church Road, Alma, GA 31510.

Active Pallbearers are Alex Aycock, Andrew Aycock, Jr., Brett Aycock, Willis Masdon, David Trowell, and Joey Anderson. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
