Martha Peneton, age 85, of Alma passed away Friday, September 6th at Baptist Village after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County and daughter of the late Grady Lee and Edna Sweat Lee. Martha was preceded in death by a son, Benny Jack Deen and a brother, Jack Lee. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Karen Boatright (Porky) of Alma, Benny Jack Deen, Jr. (Anita) of Jacksonville, Fl. and Wendy Dominey (Frank) of Alma, five great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and special niece and nephew Jackie Butler (Tim) of Baxley and Darren Lee (Joni) of Alma.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, Sept. 8th at 2:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Glen Rainey officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 8 PM.
