Obituary

Marty Leon Banks, age 51, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away at Memorial Hermann Hospital, Shenandoah, Texas, on November 10, 2022, after a short illness. He was surrounded by his loving sister, Tina (Sissy) Banks Nedd and his close friends.

Marty was blessed with the ability to touch other people with his long, tight hugs, big personality, and the biggest, most beautiful smile. He always looked forward to being with his mom, Sissy, Austin, Morgan, and his large circle of friends. He especially enjoyed his special friends; Amy Weber of The Woodlands, Texas, and Denise and Will Reynolds of Miramar Beach, Florida.

Marty was a 1991 graduate of Pittsburgh Texas High School, a certified Electrician a certified NDT and was employed with Diamond G of Houston, Texas for 7 years.

Marty made our world a better place to live. He never met a stranger and loved a crowd. Marty will be sorely missed by family and all those who knew and loved him. He is now healed; Heaven gained another angel! He has been reunited with friends and family and they are rejoicing with one another.

Marty is preceded in death by his father, Monty Leon Banks, of Pittsburg, Texas, and his grandparents, W.C.(Budson) Turner and Thelma Viola Dyal Turner, of Alma Georgia.

He is survived by his mother, Judi Turner Banks of Eastland, Texas, one sister, Tina (Sissy) Banks Nedd of Spring, Texas; two sons, Morgan Smith of Longview, Texas, and Austin Banks of Mt Pleasant, Texas; one grandson, Beckham Banks of Mount Pleasant, Texas; one aunt, Liz Layton of Amelia Island, Florida, and numerous cousins. Special friends include Amy Foreman Weber of The Woodlands, Texas, Denise and Will Reynolds of Miramar Beach, Florida.

Crosby Funeral Home in Alma, Georgia, is handling all funeral arrangements. A private family burial will take place at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery on December 3, 2022, at 12 pm. David Shuman will give the eulogy.
