Mary Bernice Young Andrews, age 81, of Alma passed away Wednesday, December 19th at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County and daughter of the late Sam Young and Mary Maggie Young. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Winfred H. Andrews and two brothers, Edward and James T. Young. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Sears and husband Calvin of Douglas, three grandchildren, Malissa Crews, Gena Cutrer of Douglas and Richard M. Cutrer of Alamo, Ga and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Crews of Douglas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 22nd at 2:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Miles, Rev. Charles Carter and Bro. Joey Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 1:00 PM to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening between 6 and 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Dave Crews, Corey Sears, Devin Johnson, John Turner, Steve Griffin, Don Cothern and Clyde Gruber. Honorary pallbearers will be; Fellowship Sunday School Class, Linda Deen, Bobby & Vonice Stewart, Watson & Wylene Anderson and Jerry Taylor.
