Mary Lois (Bonnie) Tanner passed on to her heavenly home on Tuesday April 14, 2015 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Odis Tanner; a son, James Odis Tanner; her
parents, William Albert Causey and Annie Branch Causey; four sisters, Hazel Sapp, Liza Ridgdill, Emma Cain, and Irene Brown; and one brother, Chap Causey.
She is survived by two sons, Mitchell Tanner (Deborah) of Alma and Bobby Tanner (Barbara) of Hinesville; five daughters, Ann Carroll, Mary Mullis, Martha Cothern (Donald), and Stephanie Gilliard
(Timmy) all of Alma, and Joan Green (Lewis) of Marietta; 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Aaron Causey of Glennville, and Bill Causey of Augusta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was born in Appling County but had lived in Bacon County most of her life. She was a loving, dedicated wife and mother and grandmother and was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church as long as her health allowed.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday April 16th at Crosby Funeral Home in Alma from 6:00 to 8:30pm.
Funeral services will be Friday April 17th at 11:00 am at Friendship Baptist Church in Alma. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Bro. Charles Carter and Bro. Jimmy Miles will be officiating.
Active and honary pallbearers will be her grandsons: Ben, Thomas, and David Carroll; Lance and Brent Cothern; Brandon, Brody, and Will Gilliard; Brad and Brian Green; Mitchell Tanner; and Henry and Toby
Taylor.
Special music will be by her granddaughter, Lisa Medders, assisted by Lisa Taylor.
