Mary Louise Mitchell, age 56, of Alma died suddenly at her home Friday evening May 24th, 2013. She was a native of Homerville, Georgia but had lived in Bacon County since 1968. Mary was daughter of the late James Mitchell and Louise Reddick Mitchell and was also preceded in death by a sister, Fannie Mitchell, two brothers, Lelsie and James Mitchell. Mary was a C N A with Shady Acres Nursing Home in Douglas for the past 12 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Kristina Smith and husband Anton of Alma, two brothers, Charlie and Ezekiel Mitchell of Tacoma, WA, three grandchildren, Alyssa Cooper, Joscelyn and Makhiya Smith.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 o'clock at First Community Church of Alma with Dr. Dale Carver officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening between 6 and 9 P M. The body will be carried to he church Wednesday at 10:00 A M to lie in state.

Active pallbearers will be, Bernie Lee Grady, William Hardy, Anton Smith, Chris and Kevin Mitchell. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
