Mary Ruth Smart, age 71, of Alma, passed away Monday June 12, 2023 at her residence after a short illness. She was a native of Clinch County and the daughter of the late Willard Author and Pauline Griffin McCoy. Brothers Rick and Edward McCoy and a sister Joyce Bennett also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband Edwin "Eddie" Dorsey Smart, daughter Sonya Renee Lambert, brothers Paul McCoy (Merle), and Ed McCoy, sister Donnie Register, grandchildren Joshua Crawford and Ashlyn Lambert.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
