Mary Anneyse Smart, age 80, of Alma passed away at her residence Sunday, April 21, 2019 after an extended illness. She was born in Alma, Georgia on July 7, 1938 to the late Lawrence Kelly Waters and Mary Irene Altman Waters.

Mrs. Smart was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Waters and three sisters, Norma Jean Beckworth, Deloris Lee and Nell Taylor.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Larry Smart, two children, Selina Smart Turner and husband Danny and Sherry Smart and two granddaughters, Melissa Chavez-Jorge and Amber Williams all of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 24 ^th at 11:00 AM at the Alma Church of Christ with Minister Danny Turner and Minister Harry Goff officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Mark Reynolds, Morris Johnson, Jack Johnson, Jorge Chevez, Joe Mikell and Wayne Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be; Zach Johnson, Lawton Johnson, Larry Waters, Kirby Waters, Kevin  Eason, Blake Hutto and the Bacon County Class of 1957.
