Mary Edna Wheeler, age 96, of Alma passed away peacefully January 19, 2026 at her residence. She was born November 9, 1929 in Berrien County to John D. Brogdon and Gertie Moore Brogdon.

Mrs. Wheeler was retired from the Bacon County Clerks Office where she served for many years. She was a member of Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. "Nig" Wheeler; daughter, Dr. Joan Wheeler and brother, Roy Brogdon. Survivors include three daughters, Karen Tanner (John), Linda Harrell (Bill) and June Brockington; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside will be held.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
