Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Youngblood, "Beth", a beloved mother, wife, nanny, sister, nurse, and neighbor, left this world peacefully in the early morning hours of May 10, 2025, due to an extended illness.

She was born on October 20, 1961, in Alma, Georgia, where she grew up with the Bacon County Class of 1979.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald Turner and Ella Mae Carter Turner.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Youngblood, only child, Amanda Howell, and grandchildren, Gunner Patterson, Ellagail Patterson, and Maelee Nipper, sisters, Donita Ringle (Bill), Yulanda Stinson, and Brother, Ricky Turner (Mitsy), and several nieces and nephews.

At home, Beth was the heart of everything. She was the cherished wife of Tim Youngblood for 36 years. Their time together was a beautiful journey filled with love, laughter, and deep companionship. They built a life centered on family and friends and were the neighbors a neighbor would like to have.

She was the proud and loving mother to her one daughter Amanda Howell who she shared an unbreakable bond. As 'Nanny' to her 3 beautiful grandchildren, Gunner, Ellagail and Maelee, she poured endless love, wisdom, and joy into their lives. To say she adored them would be an understatement—she thought the sun rose and set in their eyes.

For more than 2 decades 'Bethy', aka 'Bertha', served Southeast Georgia as a Registered Nurse. She offered a steady hand in the Emergency Room for the most part of her career. Her calling wasn't just to heal people, it was to teach people, as well. She loved her co-workers, saw potential, and knew what it took to be the best nurse and to have the best team. Countless friends became family throughout her medical journey, and she spent her time taking care of everyone around her whether she was on the clock or not.

A proud Hippy at heart, Beth lived fearlessly and colorfully. Her home was always open whether you came for a chat, a shoulder to cry on, or one of her legendary parties. Known for her ability to throw down in the kitchen, you never left "Beth and Tim's House" hungry. She loved America and loved her Lord. She was baptized at the church she called her church, "New Lacy Church of God". Beth had a fierce personality and was never scared to stand up for those she loved and what she believed in. Her memory will live on through those she touched with her fearless and radiant spirit.
