Mathew Dewayne Rewis, age 14, of Alma died suddenly Saturday February 6th, 2016 at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He was a native of Ocilla, GA and had lived his life in Bacon County. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Roy S. Donley and maternal great-grandfather Newte Aycock. Mathew attended Lee's Chapel Baptist Church and Victory Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents Dewayne Rewis and Michelle Donley Rewis of Alma, paternal grand father and step grand mother Wendell and Kathy Rewis of Alma, paternal grand mother and step grand father Brenda and Paul Williams of Douglas, maternal grand mother Brenda Downing of Colquitt, GA, maternal great-grandmother Mary Aycock of Colquitt, Ga., paternal step-great-grandmother Juanita Williams of Douglas. Two sisters Kayla Butler (Wayne) of Tifton, GA and Marla Rewis of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at Lee's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Delk, Rev. Adam Henderson and Rev. Daniel Eason officiating. Interment will follow in Mt Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery on Radio Station Road. The body will be carried to the church Friday at 1:00 P M to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday evening between 6 and 9 P M.

Active pallbearers will be, Trent Hardy, Lee Cooley, Kyle Rewis, Klent Rewis, Jon Spell and Dewayne Hutto. Honorary escort will be classmates of future graduating classes of 2017 and 2019. Also Payton Wilcox, Ridge Lee, Hunter Trowell, Tyler Taylor and Zack Rewis.
