Obituary
Mattie Ruth Greenway, age 81, of Alma passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. She was born in Alma, Georgia on September 25, 1935 to the late Walter Kermit Lee. Mattie was preceded in death by two brothers, Stacey K. Lee and Larry W. Lee and a great-grandson, L.J. Cunningham
She was a member of the Alma First Baptist Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include her mother, Minnie Lee Lee of Alma, son, Freddie Cunningham (Jackie), of Alma, three daughters, Chandra Medders of Hazlehurst, Tryane Taylor (Bradley) and Kristi Strickland (Dean), two brothers, Roy Denny Lee (Betty) and Jerry Lee (Gladys) and a sister, Jan Lee all of Alma; also 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28th at 11:00 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Sweatt officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Conner Deen, Duncan Deen, Chase Taylor, Caleb Martin, Tristan Strickland and Casey Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be; VFW. Ladies Auxiliary, Pat Lott and her staff and Woodman of the World Lodge 630.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
