Obituary
Maxine P. Steedley, age 86, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Monday, August 12th at the Grove Center after an extended illness.
She was born February 27, 1927 in Alma to the late Simon and Victoria (Medders) Peacock and has been a resident of the area since 1950 moving from Alma. Maxine was a citrus worker for Citrus World and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.D. Steedley in 1975.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry D. Steedley of Lake Wales, John W. Steedley of Lake Wales, Kenneth Steedley of Lake Wales, Mark Steedley of Avon Park, FL; sisters, Rudean Dyal of Tallahassee, FL, Christine Barber of Baxley; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Kerry Steedley and Rev. Bill Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Big Creek Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 9 PM.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
