Melva Jean Rowell Redding, age 78, of Nicholls passed away October 31, 2022 at Coffee Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was a native of Coffee County and daughter of the late Willard "Tink" Rowell and Wylean Gilliard Rowell Lane. Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Ellis "J.E." Redding; brother, Jerell Rowell, sister, LeVan Lee and stepfather, James Dennis Lane.

Mrs. Redding was retired from the US Post Office and was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori and Kenny Lamb of Nicholls; grandson, Kendall E. Lamb of West Green; brother, Glynn and Martha Sue Rowell of Screven; brother-in-law, Billy Lee of Bickley; special great niece and nephew, Gavin and Annalyn Johnson; also special caregivers, Denise Livingood, Teresa Roberson Anderson and Vicky Ryles.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 11:00 at Dry Creek Baptist Church with Rev. David Davis and Rev. L. G. Aldridge officiating. Interment will follow in Hall Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Kendall Ellis Lamb, Austin Johnson, Gavin Johnson, Michael Carter, Tony McKinnon and Geoffrey Lee.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
