Melvin Clyde Bratcher, Jr., age 73, of Alma passed away Friday, April 26, 2024 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born April 30, 1950 in Bacon County to the late Melvin Clyde Bratcher, Sr. and Virginia Pritchet Bratcher.

Mr. Bratcher was retired from Okefenokee Technical College as the Technical Teacher after many years. After retirement he was Owner and Operator of Melvin Bratcher Electrical Heating and Air. He was also a member of Saginaw Baptist Church.

In additional to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jean Roebuck.Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Pamela Deen Bratcher; son, Michael Melvin Bratcher; two grandchildren, Adam Michael Bratcher and Leah Heather Bratcher; sister, Virginia "Ginny" Howell (George) and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening  (May 7, 2024) at 7:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral Tuesday from 6:00 PM until service time.
