Merley  Rigdon Shuemake, age 78, of Alma passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. She was born on April 3, 1940 to the late Daniel Ira Rigdon and Ruby Lee Hayes Rigdon. Her husband James Shuemake, seven sisters, Louis Tanner, Ocie Rimes, Bertie Lanning, Vertie Courson, Lucille Maloy, Leona Cannon and Eula Mae Anderson, and three brothers, Julius Rigdon, Merlon Rigdon and John Ira Rigdon preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Kay Hayes of Patterson, GA. and Teresa Chalnell Shuemake of Jacksonville, FL., two grandchildren, Tonya Bennett (Andy) of Alma, Todd Allen (Amy) of Patterson, GA., five great-grandchildren, Chad Bennett (Kristi), Hunter Bennett (Megan) of Alma, Denise Allen, Todd Allen, Jr. and Ronnie Allen of Patterson, Ga.; also two great-great-grandchildren, Reed and Maverick Bennett of Alma.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 15 ^th at 2:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Davis Harris officiating.
