Michael Scott Mims, age 48, of Alma died suddenly Thursday March 7 ^th , 2019 in Florida. He was a native of Bacon County, a commercial truck driver and had worked with C S X Rail Road for ten years.  Scott was preceded in death by a half brother Kevin Streat.

Survivors include his father Billy Ray Mims and step-mother Robyn Hutcheson Mims of Alma, his mother Cecelia Taylor Streat of Nicholls, his son Ryan Michael Mims of Alma, step daughter Kaitlen Mixon of Brunswick, half brother Marshall Streat of Nicholls, former wife Christine Williams of Alma and a special friend Dawn Starling of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. David Deen officiating and a eulogy will be delivered by his son Ryan. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday evening between 6 and 9 P M.  Interment will follow in Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Mike Hall, Travis Williams, Jodey Conners, Tim Sweat, Jamie Boatright, Billy Ray Dyal, Dalton Anderson and Steve Dixon.  Scott's 1988 classmates and friends will serve as honorary escort.
