Michael Kerry Swails, age 52, of Alma passed away Friday August 5th at his residence. He was a native of Coffee County and the son of the late Johnny Swails and Jeanette Jowers Swails. A brother Johnny Markham Swails and his father-in-law Arnold Clayton Wade also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years Cheri Swails, five sons John Michael Wood and Blaine Keith Wade of Alma, Michael Edward Swails (Jackie) and Adam Kerry Swails of Douglas, and Corey Kirkland of Indianapolis, Indiana, two daughters Amanda Carolyn Wade of Alma and Diana Michelle Swails of Douglas, two sisters Janice Swails Harrison (Louis) and Anita Hodge (Paul) of Nicholls. Several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2pm in the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Mack Dyal officiating. Internment will follow in Corinth Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Sunday night from 6-9pm. Active pallbearers are B.J. and Shawn McQuaig, Louis Harrison, Jamie Wrinn, Tommy Parker, and Jerrid Taft. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escort.
