Michelle Lois Smith, age 43, of Alma passed away Friday, October 3rd. She was a native of Del Ray Beach, Florida. Michelle graduated from Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville, FL. in 1989 and moved to Alma. Michelle was employed with Mid South Feeds of Alma. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Alton Smith and maternal grandparents, Arthur Nell and Delmer Miller.

Survivors include her father, Alton Dwight Smith of Alma, her mother, Mary L. Miller Simmons and step father, Bob Simmons of Alma, two children, Callie Bloodworth and Andrew Bloodworth of Alma, son and daughter of John Bloodworth of Hazlehurst, paternal grandmother, Lois Jewell Smith of Mershon, four brothers, Chad Smith (Casey) of Scuffletown, Robert Simmons of Alma, Kyle Evan Smith and Wesley Springer (Janice) of Blackshear, a sister, Jennifer Smith (Steve) of Boynton Beach, FL and two half sisters, Jaime Forbus & Catherine Bennett of Frisco & Flint, Texas, respectively. First cousin, Alton Levi Smith of Alma, Aunt & Uncle Marie and James Glass of Athens, GA. and several nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 8th at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Pet Hayes, Rev. Mark Carver and Rev. Daniel Eason officiating and eulogies given by Meg Turner and Christy Turner. Interment will follow in Old Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bacon County High School Athletic Dept.

Active pallbearers will be; Alton Smith, Wesley Springer, Lonnie & Chad Smith, Robert Simmons, Kyle Smith, Dusty Andrews and Jimmy Sweat. Honorary pallbearers will be; Employee's of Mid South Feeds, Todd Drew, BC High Football Team, BC High School Softball Team, BC High School Classes of 2016 & 2018, Timmy and Anthony Smith.
