Muriel Virginia Martin, age 60, of Alma passed away Wednesday, December 11th at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. after a short illness. She was a native of Bacon County and daughter of the late Jessie Willard Thompson and Clyo Taylor Thompson. Muriel was preceded in death by a son, Drew Martin, two grandchildren, Hunter & Jacob Martin and a sister, Cynthia Sharpe.

Survivors include her husband, William (Bill) P. Martin, two sons, Dale Martin (Christy) and Dane Martin, a daughter, Dawn Taylor (Chris), one brother, Phelan Thompson, three sisters, Colleen Adams and Vivian Stallings (Harry) all of Alma and Jan Allen of Blackshear also seven grandchildren and one great grandchild survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 15th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Edmund Thrift, Rev. Jerry Chancey and eulogy given by Jan Allen. Interment will follow in New Hope Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday evening between 6 and 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Tyler Weaver, James Martin, Rodney Wilson, Rudy Pacheco, Freddie Stallings and Keith Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be; Dr. Deen & Staff and Bacon County ICU Ward.
