Obituary

Myrtice Deen, age 89, of Alma passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family on January 15, 2021 after a short illness. She was born in Bacon County on March 16, 1931 to Doc Turner and Martha Ann Rigdon Turner.  "Aunt Myrt", as she was known, was a homemaker and a lifelong member at Wesley Chapel "Wolf Pit" Church, where she lived daily her Christian values and testimony by being a servant to all she met.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Rewis, four brothers, Tuck Turner, Robert Lee Turner, Eugene Turner and twin brother James Curtis Turner and a sister, Frieda Turner Smith. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Carroll Edison Deen of Alma; three sons, Jimmy Holmes (Kathy) of Statesboro, Buddy Deen (Wanda), Charles Deen (Renae); one daughter, Sue Johnson (Johnny); son-in-law, Johnny Rewis all of Alma; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.  She is also survived by special friend, Mrs. Wilda Rea Lewis, and her church family at Wolfpit.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 19 th at 2:00 PM at Campground Church Cemetery with Rev. T. F. Yawn and Rev. Danny Turner officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Active pallbearers will be; Jamie Johnson, Brian Deen, Michael Deen, Brandon Deen, Will Richardson and Blake Varnadore.

Mask and social distancing will be required.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
