Neal Pickett, Jr., age 69, of Alma passed away Wednesday, March 30th in the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, Georgia after an extended illness. He was a native Bacon County, son of the late Neal Pickett, Sr. and Pearlie Mae Stephens Pickett and preceded in death by two sisters, Annette Reynolds and Claudia Rainy. Neal served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the First African Baptist Church.

Survivors include three brothers, Gary Pickett (Juanita), Alvin Pickett of Alma and Wilson Pickett of Jonesboro, Ga., three sisters, Louella Wooden and Lisa Smith (Gregory) of Alma and Louisa Jenkins of Jesup, Ga.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 4th at 2:00 PM at the First African Baptist Church with Rev. Stephon Deen officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at First African Baptist Church from 12:00 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Thomas Smith, Caleb and Jermaine Madison. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
