Nelda Ruth Boatright, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8th at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Lewis D. Carter and Eula Mae Waters Carter and was preceded in death by her husband Ellis Boatright, Jr., her daughter, Kaye Boatright McEachin and a sister Etwenda Carter Peacock Martin. Nelda was owner and operator of Nelda's Beauty Shop for 50 years and was a member of the Alma Church of God.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Boatright (Kathy) of Alma and Greg Boatright of Valdosta, Georgia, brother, Wesley Carter (Clara) of Alma, sister, Glenda Deen of Waycross, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; also several special nieces and nephews who have assisted in her care.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 12th at 11:00 AM at The Alma Church of God with Rev. Travis Peavy, Rev. Robert Varnadore and Rev. Brian Gill officiating. Interment will follow in Ten Mile Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 9 PM.

Nephews will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be; The Prime Timers Sunday School Class, Class of 1950 and any of her beauty shop customer's.
