Omar K. Johnson, age 67, of Alma passed away February 15th at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County, son of the late James Monroe Johnson and Dollie Estelle Townsend Johnson and preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Johnson. Omar served in the US Army during the Germany and Vietnam Era and was a member of the Alma Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Wanda Thornton Johnson of Alma, two brothers, James Johnson, Jr. and Scott Johnson of Alma, one sister, Carolyn Crews (Warren) of Waycross and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 17th at 11:00 AM at the Alma Church of God with Rev. Travis Peavy and Rev. Pet Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Monday from 6 to 9 PM. The body will be carried to the church at 10:00 AM to lie in state.

Robert & Audrey Varnadore, Cheri Lane, Lynn Rentz, Jerri Nall, Patricia Tanner and Helen Waters.
