Obituary
Oscar E. "Shorty" Abercrombie, age 88, of Alma passed away Thursday, February 19th at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Coffee County and son of the late Edwin Lindley Abercrombie and Wilma Cason Abercrombie. Oscar was preceded in death by four sisters, Betty Hogg, Faye Wilcox, Lucille Douglas and Geneva Renfro and four brothers, Robert Lee, Edwin, Carlton and Wherry Abercrombie. He served in the US Army.
Survivors include a brother, Felton Abercrombie and wife Brenda of Jacksonville, Fl. and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 21st at 2:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Eric Brown officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
