Ottis Newton Rowell, age 80, of Alma passed away February 12, 2022 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after a short illness. Born in Bacon County on May 20, 1941 to Ottis Rowell and Verna Mae Lee Rowell. He lived in Ware County for 42 years before moving to Bacon County in 1983.

Mr. Rowell was retired from CSX Railroad; served in the National Guard for 64 years and was a member of New Hope Southern Congregational Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Annell Warnock Rowell. Survivors include his brother, John Larry Rowell, Sr. and wife Glenda of Jesup and nephew, John Larry Rowell, Jr. and wife Marisol of Lawrenceville.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Church Cemetery with Rev. Pet Hayes and Rev. T. F. Yawn officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the cemetery from 1:00 PM until funeral time.
