Oveda L. Nails, age 85, of Nicholls passed away Tuesday, September 9th after an extended illness. She was a native of Coffee County and daughter of the late John Arthur Lingenfelter and Delilah Meeks Lingenfelter. Oveda was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Oline Nails, daughter, Linda Gail Nails, two brothers, Raymond and Glynn Lingenfelter and two sisters, Cleo Anderson and Ethel Jordon. She was a member of Nicholls Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, John Marshall Nails (Linda), Terry Oline Nails of Nicholls, Jerone Nails (Holly) of Douglas and Kennith Wayne Nails (Lynn) of Hazlehurst, two brothers, Arthur Lingenfelter of Waycross and Lamar Lingenfelter of Alma, two sisters, Louise Flynn of Roswell, GA. and Maureen Shore of Jacksonville, FL, four grandchildren, Angie Adams & Felicia Nails of Nicholls, Shane Nails of Ft. Walton Beach, FL. and Zachary Baxley of Atlanta, GA., two great-granddaughters, Arayhia Reed and Aubree Nails of Nicholls and several nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 12th at 2:00 PM at the Nicholls Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Campbell and Kenneth Cannon officiating. Interment will follow in Meeks Cemetery. The family will be receiving at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Fred Anderson, Stacey Anderson, Bruce Lingenfelter, B.J. Thomas, Graham Tyre and Hilton Smith. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
