Pearlie Mae Pickett, age 86, of Alma passed away Saturday, December 6th at her residence after an extended illness. She was native of Bacon County; daughter of the Willam Franklin Stephen and Corene Slay and preceded in death by her husband Neal Pickett, two daughters, Annette Reynolds and Claudia Rainey and a brother, John Mabry. Pearlie was a member of First Community Church.
Survivors include four sons, Neal Pickett, Jr. of Milledgeville, Ga., Gary Pickett (Juanita) of Alma, Alvin Pickett (Virginia) of Hazlehurst, Wilson Pickett of Jonesboro, Ga., three daughters, Lou Ella Pickett, Louise Jenkins and Lisa Smith (Greg) all of Alma, one sister, Madie Underwood of Hazlehurst, 7 grandchildren, Della Madison, Sirlena Staten, Tyrone Trimble, Chris Edwards, Angel Murphy, Diane Pickett and Kenya Smith, 3 great-grandchildren, Caleb Madison (Melissa) Jermaine Madison (Haley) & Curtis Pickett, 3 great-great-grandchildren, Shree Madison, Caleb Madison Jr., (CJ) 7 Shanley Madison; also uncle Willie Mabry, Sr., sister-in-law, Dollie Mae Littman and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10th at 11:00 AM at First African Baptist Church with Rev. Stephon Deen and Rev. Carl Marion. The family will be receiving friends at First African Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until funeral time.
Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. All in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
